Summer Hot Day

A relief from house chores and the summer heat... A swim in a friends refreshing pool with my daughter and some time at the beach was just what I needed for the week-end. It is always so nice to share fun times together since she is growing up so fast.

Amongst my collections of many favorite things, one being catalogs, they inspire my creative variety of interests too.

These pictures capture my spirit and remind me to slow down. The chores will be waiting but life is flying by. I hope you can feel the calm and simple but creative fun ways to play during this summer. TOAST inspires just that: www.toast.co.uk/

The Flicka in Me

I grew up with horses, these days seem like I'm truly not myself without one. Flicka is a movie that is very much a part of my life story. If you understand the feeling of a bond so strong? Riding without a saddle in a full canter, is the greatest trust and true thrill I miss daily.

The photography of this captured image is inspiring, as well.

I will hold on to my dream to have a horse again.

Wings I lack, will to be found again......

A stunning moment captured during the birth (just over 4 months ago), of Spirit, a Gypsy Vanner. Gpysy Vanners are breed in 3 different sizes, having lots of muscle in stature, from under 14 hands to over 16. Pleasantly known to have very gentle spirits whom share love for human affection. Having lots of smarts, makes them very easy to train for any kind of riding. Gypies make for a wonderful family horse, having delightful personalities which become a long time friend for many years.......

Spirit is now just only 4 months old. A handsome young man indeed. Spirit has stolen my heart.

Within My Heart

I've arrived home from a delightful trip to Northern California. It's time to catch up, unload the truck, share many stories, as well as pictures I've captured. For today, I share with you a poem that I came across, as I was pondering on weather to make this adventure. After deciding to rob my piggy bank, I hit the road and came home filled with inspiration and along with new friends from my week.

The Angels on Wash Day

The Angels on Wash Day

When the angels do their laundry,
Up in heaven on Spring days,
They blow bubbles at each other,
And in the soapsuds play.

They must do a lot of wash,
Because their soapsuds seem to grow,
Until piled so high up in the sky,
The sun won't even show.

I wonder what is in their wash,
For their soapsuds soon turn gray,
Then, dark and black and ominous,
And they do not go away.

The once blue sky's now darkened,
And a chill comes in the air,
Then, a stillness settles in,
Nothing stirring, anywhere.

The angels sometimes are disturbed,
And they rub-a-dub-dub on their tubs,
Their loud and pounding sounds come down,
Creating quite a hubbub.,

Next, they empty out their laundry tubs,
You should see the water flow,
It comes down by the bucketful,
And drenches everything below.

Suddenly the tempest stops,
And the water runs in gentle streams,
Have the angels left a faucet on,
Or are they rinsing out their things?

More slowly does the water flow,
Until it finally stops,
Then, in all its heavenly glory
A brilliant sun comes out.

Next, I hear some chirping birds,
And a blue, blue sky appears,
The air so clean, it seems pristine,
And more clear, the atmosphere.

Soon, piece by piece, the angels hang,
Their laundry out to dry,
Their angel wings and robes and things,
Are flung across the sky.

Their fresh-washed laundry, pure white,
Is a dazzling sight to see,
A joy to watch it in the sky,
Drying freely in the breeze.

And in one corner of the sky,
Is an arc of many hues,
No doubt, colored items from the wash,
Set aside, but not removed.

When it's laundry time in heaven,
And the angels roll up their wings,
We know it won't be long at all,
Until the world is sparkling clean.

I love it when the angels wash,
I love their things hung out to dry,
I love the fresh-washed scent I get,
From their laundry in the sky.

Mustang Beauties

I sure miss Blue Max daily, my registered Mustang I had for many years. He was a large part of my life and soul. I hope you can enjoy these beautiful and gentle Mustangs. Max was a very easy horse to care for and train since I bought him as a young gelding. The love we had was special. Very much like a large dog. He followed me without a lead, play with the rack while I cleaned his stall, and he love playing with the water spigot and hose. My dream is to have horses again in my life again real soon.

I appreciate Pioneer Woman sharing this touching photo for me enjoy. A wonderful life to be a part of.

Our Wish

These are pictures of my daughters year-end dance banquet. Since she is a Senior now, it's bittersweet to see many things come to an end. Shelley is the one wearing green. I love the Our Wish t-shirts that were shared with all the other team mates. Touching indeed.

Many Thoughts

I've had lots of thoughts these days. I must work and get my chores done before I can come out to play. Life each day is changing for me, and I seem to be pondering about change itself. Patience is what I need to hold on to. One of the hardest things for me to have, I believe.

I hope to post some pictures soon. Creative projects to finish and post too. I'll be sharing some favorite trinkets I've found among the treasures I inherited from my family.

My studio needs some order and I must purge and organize to encourage more creative moments. I enjoy looking at the trinkets I've saved for special journals. I've left my supplies out for so long to finish my soldering projects I've done. Fun art that has been calling my name as I look at the collection daily, waiting for me to get me but in gear and play again. I fell in love with the art in soldering jewelry and decorative goodies at Silver Bella last November. I think I've left my tools out just to remind myself with the fun I've had making charms and such. Everything looks a mess right now so I best start making it look spit spot (clean and tidy).

I've just started making pocket aprons, which really do come in handy, I love mine and ladies notice how handy they are when I use it to find flea market bargains and such. I've just begun to brush up on my old sewing skills.

As I look at this picture of this young girl with the doves, I hope it helps me learn more patience. She does give a feeling of peace, which I like.
